Thank you TGS for the great cupcakes at Church at Sheppard's 1 year anniversary!
We are sisters, Chelsie and Aerial, and we have always dreamed of sharing God’s word while being able to do something we truly enjoy. We decided to start The Good Samaritan because of our Mother, who raised us on sweets and always baked and decorated all of our birthday cakes. She always had some gooey brownies, a chocolate cake or something sweet for breakfast, snacks, and desserts. Very nutritious. Not only did she get us hooked on sweets, but she raised us in a Christian home and taught us at a very young age to put others before ourselves.
In 2004 our Mother went to be with the Lord. It was the hardest time in our lives, but we have comfort knowing that one day we will see her again. We are truly blessed to have had such an amazing Christian woman as our Mother. We have taken what she has taught us and used it in our lives. God gave us a gift that we want to be able to share with others. Through our passion of baking and eating sweets we hope to share Gods love with other Christians and people who may not know what it means to be apart of the Christian family. It says in 1 Peter 4:8-10 - “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace."
"1 Peter 4:8-10 - 8Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace."
We plan to use the gifts of service that God has given us to serve others in and around our community. In Luke 10:27 it says "Love the Lord with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, Love your neighbor as yourself." In Luke 10:30-37 Jesus talks about the good samaritan and what it means to be a good neighbor. We want to be able to do as Jesus said and help our neighbor, whomever that may be.
Every few months we would like to host a drive to contribute to a local charity or organization that has a greater need than our own. Everything we have is a gift from God and it is not given to us to keep for ourselves. We want to give back a little of what God has given to us. We now have a store front located in University Village at 2301 Midwestern Parkway Suite 114. What a blessing it has been getting to know our customers; we look forward to continued success!
